ADU Construction in San Diego
Rental income, room for family and more value on your lot.
ADUs built from the ground up
An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is a complete, separate home on your property. San Diego homeowners build them for rental income, for aging parents or for grown kids who need a place of their own.
California law has made ADUs easier to permit than ever. We handle the full build, from site work and utilities through framing, finishes and the final inspection.

ADU questions
How big can my ADU be?
State law allows detached ADUs up to 1,200 sq ft on most residential lots, and junior ADUs up to 500 sq ft within the home. Local rules and lot size affect what fits. We check this at your consultation.
How long does it take to build an ADU?
Permitting time varies by city. Construction on a detached ADU typically takes 4–6 months once permits are issued.
Can I rent out my ADU?
Yes. Long-term rentals are allowed statewide, and many owners use the rent to offset the cost of the build.
